Create fun and realistic 3D drawings that deceive the eye!
Have you ever seen photos of those cool, life-sized, three-dimensional street art pieces that look like you could step right into them? Those are awesome examples of trompe l'oeil illusions. (Trompe l'oeil is French for “deceives the eye.”) Now you can learn to create your own realistic 3D illusion drawings on a smaller scale using colored pencils. Join instructor Amy Gibson, an accomplished artist who specializes in three-dimensional, hyperrealistic painting, for this four-day camp where you will discover how to make colorful compositions that look like they will pop right off of your paper!
Course work will include lessons in perspective, various colored-pencil drawing techniques (burnishing, blending, cross-hatching, layering, and stippling), utilizing a grid to plan your drawings and lots of fun exercises to help you learn the fundamental elements of art - such as shape, value, color and edge.
This camp is perfect for the beginning art student who wants to gain a firm foundation in drawing and understanding color.
