"This course is designed to train operators in safe and effective operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants. This course is designed to provide the individual with a general knowledge of the operation of biological wastewater treatment systems, knowledge of the laws and regulations related to treating wastewater systems, equipment use/maintenance, and collecting/ analyzing samples. Site visits and class hours are needed for this course. Upon completion, the student should be prepared for the NC Biological Grade I and II* North Carolina Water Pollution Control System Operator's Certification Commission Exam (WPCSOCC)."
