The Teen Career Readiness Course is an interactive 2.5-day program designed to empower teens to get ready for college, career training, or employment opportunities. Participants will learn practical skills that employers and colleges value while gaining confidence in their abilities.
Program Features
Teens will participate in hands-on workshops, receive one-on-one coaching, and complete mock interviews with experienced professionals. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the tools and confidence needed to take the next step toward their education and career goals.

Parental Consent
A completed Parental Consent and Leon's Law Acknowledgement Form with the registration.
NOTE: Once the online registration is completed an email with the parental consent form will be sent for completion.
This form must be turned in by the first day or parents may come in with the student to complete both the registration and parental consent forms before the course starts.
Important: Only students within the ages of 16 or 17 years old must have a parental consent and Leon's Law acknowledgement form filled out by the first day. Students must register and parents sign the consent form. Only the registration is needed for students ages 18 - 19 years of age.
Tuition Waiver Requirements
To determine if you qualify for the tuition waiver, please follow the steps below during registration:
When prompted with the question “Are you HRD Fee Waiver Eligible?” select YES.
You will then be asked to choose one of the following options that applies to you:
I am currently unemployed
I have received notification of a pending layoff
I am working and eligible for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit
I am working and earn wages at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines
Selecting one of these options activates the tuition waiver and makes the course free. If this step is not completed, a $70 fee will be required at the time of registration.
Career Services Support
As part of this course, students have access to Career Services to support their transition from training to employment. Career Services helps students prepare for the job search through resume development, mock interviews, and guidance on professional application materials?
Students can schedule a one-on-one appointment with Career Services to receive personalized support, including:
- Creating and refining resumes tailored to career goals
- Practicing mock interviews to build confidence and communication skills
- Learning how to develop complete application packages, including cover letters, thank you notes, and reference lists
