Career Exploration: Diesel

"This course is designed to help you discover how diesel engines work and will provide you with a sneak peek into the diesel mechanics program as a college student. Learn about the various jobs that are available as a diesel mechanic and the academic pathway you should follow. You will get a little dirty in this class, as you study shop safety, select and use proper tools for the right job, and experience precision measuring techniques. You will identify and inspect different truck components. Safe activities will always be at the forefront of all class and shop activities. Students must wear long pants, preferably jeans, and a shirt with sleeves. Leather boots or shoes are required. No loose clothing or jewelry will be allowed for safety reasons. Gloves and safety glasses will be provided. Seating is limited. Students 14-17 will need to complete a waiver and have a minor permission form signed by parent/guardian. "
